Introduction
Soprano Anna-Kristiina Kaappola is a versatile singer and her repertoire ranges from barock to contemporary music.
After graduating from the Sibelius-Academy she was a member of the ensemble of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet until 2020.
Ms Kaappola is a winner of the Mary Garden International Singing Competition and has received special prizes at the Timo Mustakallio Competition and the Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition.
Ms Kaappola has performed on the major stages around the world including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, State Operas in Berlin and Hamburg, Semper Opera Dresden, Salzburg Festival and Savonlinna Opera Festival.
Her most significant roles include the Queen of the Night, Konstanze, Gilda, Violetta, Alice Ford, Liu and Micaela. She has worked with renowned conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Riccardo Muti, Leopold Hager, René Jacobs, Helmuth Rilling, Leif Segerstam, Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Esa-Pekka Salonen.
